Ryan Seacrest’s Broadcasting Universe

If anyone inherited the legacy of iconic television personality, visionary and producer, Dick Clark most would have to agree hands down it most definitely has to be, Ryan John Seacrest of Augusta, Georgia. Ryan Seacrest has been a one man force in the television industrial universe.

American Idol got its reboot in Spring of 2018. His co-hosts are recording artists, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan. It is a well rounded and complete panel and its host has been host the iconic show since 2002. He has a deal to continue as its host in an initial multi year agreement for over $10 million.

American Idol gave Ryan Seacrest the exposure necessary to expand further and stretch out to host his own radio program, On Air with Ryan Seacrest. He broadcasts the show from a studio in NYC, having yet aired in Los Angeles during the AM “drive-time” slots. He tapes in NYC to accommodate his schedule for his co-host gig with actress and television personality, Kelly Ripa, on Live with Kelly & Ryan.

If that is not enough, Seacrest picked up the annual tradition spearheaded by Dick Clark, of hosting “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” also hosted and taped in New York City during the Annual Ball Drop in Times Square. The show aired since 1972 and Ryan officially carried the show after Clark, who passed in 2012, handed over the reigns to Seacrest as its main host in 2012-2013, after having co-hosted since 2006. He has had several co-hosts himself, such as comedian Jenny McCarthy

Ryan Seacrest, much like Clark has spun his varied television appearances, radio programs and long running hosting gigs into a formidable empire: Ryan Seacrest Productions or RSP in 2008. His production company produces the Keeping Up with the Kardashian franchise and its recurring spin offs such as Khloe & Lamar. He has also produced an Emmy Award winning cooking show: Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution, Married to Jonas as well as The Shahs of Sunset. He also inked a deal with ABC Studios to create exclusive productions for the scripted series division for ABC Networks.
